Caroline and J.T. are quite literally the sweetest, most fun couple ever! It was such an honor to get to know them through engagement photos, bridals, and their big day…which was an absolute PARTY, I might add. They chose the perfect, classic setting in College Station, Texas at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Brownstone Reserve for the start of their lives together.
The day began with hanging out at the venue, which included a short rain shower that quickly blew over and left us with perfect weather. The girls did a little exercising to really get those arms looking good, both hilarious and effective. Honestly I thought about joining them. The boys showed off their swag with a professional-sports style entrance. And then J.T.’s mom wanted to do a shot with her son and all the boys. We love a cool mom!
After seeing her dad and brother, probably the most heartwarming first look with a brother you’ve ever seen, we headed to St. Mary’s. In keeping with tradition, Caroline and J.T. did not share a first look, but they did share a first touch and private vows inside the empty church. I don’t think a dry eye was left, even between the photo and video team. You could really feel the love between these two and it was the best way to reset before walking down the aisle.
Their Catholic ceremony at St. Mary’s was made extra special by Caroline’s brother serving as an alter server. Being a Catholic myself, these ceremonies are always so beautiful and meaningful to me and remind me of my own wedding. There’s nothing like standing in front of God, celebrating the sacrament of marriage, and promising to remain faithful for the rest of your life. After they were pronounced man and wife, we snapped a few family portraits and hopped on the Aggie Spirit bus to make our way to Brownstone Reserve.
The reception was kicked off with the bride and groom first dance with their entire guest list surrounding them, and let me tell you, these two have MOVES! I’ll let the photos serve as proof. While the ceremony was filled with happy tears, the reception was overflowing with laughs, cheers, sass, and so much fun! And of course, Caroline and her dad danced to “Sweet Caroline” which was truly just the most adorable thing you’ve ever seen. After cutting the cakes, one of which was a full Shiner-filled Yeti cooler for J.T., the grand march kicked off the party and the dance floor stayed full until the grand exit. Some highlights included crowd surfing, a powerhouse sing-along to “Pink Pony Club”, the Aggie War Hymn, and finally a clean, white vintage Bronco for the getaway car.
Caroline and J.T., thank you so much for trusting me to be your Texas wedding photographer. Being there from engagement photos, to bridals, to the wedding day, was such an honor. Your love for each other is so clear and I know God has big plans for you up ahead! I hope to bump into you at an Aggie game very soon! Until then, congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Payne! Wishing you all the best!
